The dolphin watching tour around the coast of Quepos and Manuel Antonio can be enjoyed from on board one of the  vessels.

Your tour begins with a shuttle service pick up from your hotel.

La Carpintera Adventure Tour

The Carpintera Adventure Tour is a new tour option that is close to San Jose, less than a 25 minute drive. It is located in a protected area, Carpintera Peaks and contains primary and secondary forest.

The average temperature is 18-26 C and is located in Tres Rios.

Canopy Tour- Begins with a 15 minute walk through the forest and includes 19 platforms, 13 cables, 2 rappels.
Duration of tour-  approximately two and half hours.

On your return to San Jose, you will visit the Basilica of Los Angeles and the ruins of Cartago.

San Gerardo de Dota

The Savegre Mountain Hotel, also known as Cabinas Chacón, is located in San Gerardo de Dota, a small community in the Talamanca mountains in the midst of a precious ecosystem.

Here you will find a deep cloud forest filled with massive oaks and other native species. The woods serve as a sanctuary for a large number of mammals and innumerable species of insects, amphibians, amazing plants and colorful birds, a paradise for birdwatchers.

As you wind around Cerro de la Muerte on the Interamerican Highway, you will see the lush vegetation become stunted and then diminish. The turn off for San Gerardo de Dota is on Kilometer 80, driving for 9 kilometers down on a well mantained gravel road you reach this narrow, pristine mountain valley at 2200 meters of altitude (7220 ft). San Gerardo de Dota has become a paradise for birdwatchers, hikers, and trout fishers.

Avalanche in Arenal

This is the Arenal Volcano as of yesterday.  According to La Nacion, Costa Ricas leading newspaper, experts from the University of Costa Rica and the National University are to confirm if the avalanches that occurred yesterday are not in fact eruptions.
The Arenal had six events yesterday, and  authorities closed the park for security measures.
According to vulcanologist from the University of Costa Rica,  this type of activity is normal for an active volcano.
The townsfolk and tourist were calm, and enjoyed seeing the show the Arenal was displaying.
